You invite all to your table—
plentiful, abundant,
a celebration where all are welcome.
We refuse.
You eat with
prostitutes and pimps,
the unclean and uneducated,
thieves and murderers.
You dine with
unscrupulous corporate executives,
narrow-minded religious leaders,
overzealous fanatics,
liberal politicians.
You break bread with
homosexuals and heterosexuals,
liberals and conservatives,
abusers and abused.
Once more you go to the door,
hope a question mark on your face
as you again extend your invitation.
Have we changed our minds?
Will we join the joyous kingdom feast
at your salvation table?
