Any man who devotes his life to either competitive sports, business, or investing is generally focused on having more gains then losses. Too many losses and you are out of the game, right? On the other hand, enough gains and you profit! I have yet to meet anyone who is in business to not make a profit.

I have however, met some people recently that are not “into” Christ. They ignore his role in their life, they believe that they “design and map out” their destiny on their own, and they ultimately deny his existence. These people, in my mind, have the mindset of the businessmen who is in business to never make a profit. He operates blindly with no concern for the overall “business” at hand. Slowly he loses, slowly he loses ground, setting himself deeper and deeper into a valley that never sees “gain.”

Then there is the man that is set apart - the man that Lives his life for Christ. Like a Linebacker who has his eyes on the Quarterback - there is nothing that can stop him from hitting his target. The Christian man who devotes his life to Christ wins everyday. He sees serving God as his reason for living, his reason for breathing, and his reason for someday dying - to someday spend eternity with his Heavenly Father. In his walk, in his talk, and in the way he tackles his job, you can see the difference that Christ has made in his life. This Man sees the following verse as a road map for TRUE gains -

“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him…” (Philippians 3:7-9 NIV)

Think about that! Everything else was a loss, BUT to gain Christ and be found in Him! Wow! Now those are gains that provide eternal returns - What an investment….

One final thought from a guy who was a lot brighter than most of us….

“If you gain, you gain all. If you lose, you lose nothing. Wager then, without hesitation, that He exists.“
Blaine Pascal
