Deep Calleth unto Deep

“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me-- a prayer to the God of my life. “ Psalm 42 : 7-8

Deep Calleth Unto Deep

Scattered far in blue and gold
In softly shades and deeper hue,
The dancing lilies of the field
Cry out in joyous praise to you.
A ragged path beside the streams,
And wings above in dipping flight,
Lead through Nature’s glorious themes
And hover o’er the waters bright.
Amidst the oceans giant roar,
All creatures rise and fall and leap,
From heavens plain to ocean floor,
As deep calleth unto deep.

My Lord and Saviour and my King,
I stand on Holy ground by Grace,
My wounded spirit here I bring
And weeping look to seek your face.
You are the Author of my life,
What mercy can I know but thine,
Within an evil world of strife
I still am yours and You are mine.
What depths of Love are entered here,
Upon this solid Holy ground,
You draw my broken spirit near
And hold me fast, thine arms around.

So tenderly you touch my face
And draw me to that sacred breast,
And within that strong embrace
Gently bid me come to rest.
I love thee Lord and praise the name,
The name of Jesus wrought above,
Of He who paid the price of shame
And drew me to this place called Love.
I hear the sounds of field and shore
As now you hold me fast in sleep,
And none but Thee could love us more,
As deep calleth unto deep.

Glory Hallelujah! I rejoice in your ability to paint with words in all these different hues and shades. Not just in flight, but "dipping flight". My soul has longed for such vivid expressions. I Praise the Lord for these treasures that flow from your beautiful heart Yvonne.

Your descriptions of nature and of God's love are expressed beautifully in your poem.

I don't normally like rhyming poems but this is beautiful and beautifully done. Beautiful ...
