I hope this weekly verse sounds okay, i have been sort of going through a hard time, but the psalms are always healing, and a great reminder of how worthy God is, and how he rescues, redeems and heals us, when we call on His name,Jamie
"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life, you stretch out your hand against the anger of my enemies, with your right hand you save me."-Psalm 138:7
The psalms often depict the relationship between man and God, and in this, there is a deep humility on the part of man. The writer never talks about how great he is, or how he has earned Gods love and favour, rather, he writes about how he is being pursued and surrounded by trouble, and how God rescues him and preserves his life. It would be great if our lives were psalms, proclaiming truths like "when anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul"(ps 94:19), or "blessed are those whose strength is in you"(ps 84:5), or "you have been a refuge, a strong tower against the enemy"(ps 61:3). Our only job is to acknowledge God's help, to be delivered from anxiety, rescued from the hands of the enemy, and be blessed by God's strength. All our lives need to be are testimonies of God's love and faithfulness. We are broken, he is our healer, we are weak, he is our strength, we carry ashes, He exchanges them for His beauty. We carry heavy burdens, He invites us to come to the cross and take His lighter yoke upon us. He invites us to recieve Him, and allow him to erase the pain, and to identify ourselves, not with our past, but with He who is victory, love and power. Allow Him to take your life, preserve it, so you may praise him before all men, so He is glorified.
