Please don’t tell me about your faith if you are a lazy worker…
Or if you constantly use the copier for personal copies without reimbursing the company…
Or if you clock in late, leave early, take extra-long breaks and lunches
and think no-one notices.
By all means, keep your faith a secret if you are the judgmental, bigoted, racist or grumpy worker who can’t get along with anyone, or the clown that never gets your work done.
And for sure, don’t share your faith with me if you have been hitting on the opposite (or same!) sex workers in the office, telling the filthiest jokes, or lying or cheating the company out of time and/or merchandise.
Please, PLEASE keep your faith a secret, because no-one will believe you anyway.
You see, when we attempt to live apart from God, it never works out. We cannot be Sunday-morning Christians and live like the world the rest of the week, expecting our lives to have any positive impact for the Kingdom.
So if you are wondering why your faith in the workplace in ineffectual, or why people are repelled when you "witness", examine your testimony at work – not the one your mouth declares, but the one that your life displays your work habits, attitude and character.
There is a world full of people out there watching, expecting Christians to be phonies, but SOME of them are hoping against hope that we are the real deal, hoping that this Christ we proclaim is truly the Way. Dare to live a life that speaks the Truth.
"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears
much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
