Its one thing to give Him praise, lifting up His holy name
And another to mean every word with every fibre of your being
Its one thing to say Jesus saves, but yet your world crumbles away
To speak that God is faithful and able, yet you disappear
Its one thing to pray for others but when its your problem you cower
Proclaiming that you trust the Lord and that you are His loved one
Yet when push comes to shove, the fact that you are His child
Is forgotten so swiftly, instead focusing on your situation and plight
Its one thing to say God is a healer and you have the victory
And yet when you have a headache you can’t even see beyond it
Its one thing to say that you are a true Christian sold out and saved
And yet you spend each day dwelling in sin without even praying
Its one thing to say I have been redeemed and yet you let your past hold you
Telling others that Jesus loves them yet you can't receive His love nor understand
Saying that you love the Lord, and yet you don’t spend time in His presence
Its one thing to say you’re fearfully and wonderfully made, yet you compare
To say you are a friend of God, yet you don’t even know his voice or face
We need to know Him because without that we will have no direction
Tossed and turned by any small wind, He is our true identity
But we have to search for Him, and we will find Him and who we are in Christ
And every word we say will be reflected by the inscriptions etched on our very hearts
