Recently, I had an opportunity to write two poems about twin girls who are nine years old…They were foster children at the time I met them, and now they have been adopted…I met them through their foster-Mom…I was at Field Day with my grand-children, and I met this foster-Mom in the hallway at the school…There ensued a conversation between my grand-daughter and this Mom…In the conversation, my grand-daughter and this Mom discussed the fact that there was an upcoming Going-Away party for the twins because they were soon to be adopted…
At the time of their conversation, I felt led by God to offer to write poems for these little girls…So, I asked this Mom if she would tell about three things about the twins that I would write them each a poem for the party…In the conversation, this Mom gave me her thoughts on the girls…I then wrote the poems in the following days, and I called this foster-Mom to read them to her since I needed to be sure they were appropriate before the party…She approved the poems; however, I had flipped the poems and the personalities of the twins…So I flipped the names on the poems to match their personalities, and they were set for the girls…
Then I signed the poems, framed them, and took them to the party…My grand-children did attend the skating party, and I was there as well…It was a grand evening…The twin with the reserved personality got on her little knees and read the poem over and over as if it were a prayer…It was my great joy to be used by God to write poems about these little girls and to let them know that God sees them with love and values them highly…
While I was present at the party, my grand-son had poison-oak on his face which did not seem to be responding to over-the-counter medicine…There was a physician whom I know from my work at present…I mentioned to him about the problem my grand-son had with poison-oak, and he took the time to call the pharmacy and order him the appropriate medicine…What was so beautiful too was the fact that this physician’s wife and children waited patiently while he helped my grand-son…What a blessing…There are those in the medical profession who share compassion along their path…In addition, when I took the framed poem to the physician's office, he and his wife thanked me; however, even greater than the kind thank-you they gave me was the fact that they both took the time to pray for me...This was just prior to my being on Channel 16 WGGS in Taylors, SC...What a grand blessing before my appearance on live television...I was and am greatly blessed by their kindness and the privilege and gift of sharing with others through my writings...
Recently, I was on WGGS in Taylors, S.C., and it was an honor for me to be a part of the program…On the program, there was a choir from Duncan, S.C.; and they are called The Celebration Choir…The Pastor of the Church is Pastor Lamar McAbee…I was richly blessed by their music and passion as they shared and praised the Lord…All seemed to flow together as the Body Of Christ during the program…How blessed…
Then after the broadcast, I was told about a very nice man from my past who knew a man I loved…This man had seen me on the television show, and he had mentioned to someone who told me that he had seen me on the program…He too was very complimentary…He had no ulterior motives, and because of his sheer kindness, I went by to thank him for his consideration…I was the one blessed for my stopping by to personally thank him…I think he was surprised that I had come by, but he seemed pleased…He was so very kind to take time out of his day to share some time with me…What a priceless gift is the gift of time...
