You are the Lord of my up times
and down times.
Whether work or play,
rest or relaxation,
You are Lord.
When I include You in my life
You make each minute holy
each day sacred.
Sometimes I lose my way
in a maze of schedules and have-to’s.
Time is eaten away
by the insatiable hunger of petty trifles.
I fill my life
with empty, meaningless calories
instead of feasting on Your
soul-filling, satisfying Sabbath.
Sabbath is all that is holy
and sacred in my life.
It is the time I spend alone with You
enjoying Your presence
listening to Your voice
inhaling Your scent
feasting at Your table.
Sabbath restores and renews my soul.
It gives me the energy to face each day.
Sabbath is recognizing my need for You
every day
every hour,
every minute,
You alone are worthy.
