Cheyla prayed and prayed for a baby girl
She wanted one more than anything in the world
Cheyla changed her mind and remembered the joy
Of what it was like having a baby boy
Michael has wanted a baby sister from the start
He really, really wanted one with all of his heart
Michael started praying for the baby everyday
That God may somehow give him his way
Joshua wanted a little Cheyla and a little Mike
I hoped and prayed God wouldn't be listening to that little tyke
I told Joshua there was only one baby many, many times
And tried to ask him if he thought there was a boy or girl inside
Today the kids and I went to the doctor for an Ultra Sound
Among other things, the gender of our baby was found
Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends
I know must bring this poem to an end
But before I give this ending a whirl
I really must tell you we are having a girl!
