Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. (NKJV)
Mark 13:8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the intolerable anguish and suffering [only the first of the birth pangs]. (Quick Amplified Bible)
The birth of a child into any family around the world marks a happy and proud moment for both mother and father. The anticipation of the new arrival has been building and building all the way to the end of the pregnancy. Preparation has been made for the arrival of the new little one and he or she will be pampered, watched, nurtured, and fawned over continually. Every pregnancy is different. Some are long and difficult labors while others are short and not so difficult. However, the result of every new baby arrival brings with it a certain amount of pain and suffering. Every woman has sorrow when her hour of delivery has come, but that sorrow disappears when once the baby has been born into the world.
The whole earth, all humanity, and the whole creation is in anguish right now because this earth is pregnant with judgment. It is in labor as of this very moment ready to give birth to the wrath or judgment of Almighty God. Sin is the cause of this conception, pregnancy, and subsequent birth of judgment. Adam's fall in the Garden of Eden plunged the whole earth or creation along with mankind into instant pregnancy. The wars, racism, murder, drugs, sexual perversion, pestilences, famines, earthquakes, global warming, etc. are all the result of a difficult pregnancy. Even the animal kingdom is out of order because sin and the earths pending judgment. Every newspaper and news program all over the world reports daily of the mothers condition. In the natural, once a woman becomes pregnant the only way to stop the birth of the child is to abort the pregnancy by killing the baby. There is no way to stop the birth of God's judgment upon this earth. However, through Christ the ruler of this world (the devil) has already been judged and disarmed. Therefore, every person who truly comes to Christ will have the pending birth of God's judgment or wrath that had been resting upon them aborted or ended.
John 3:36 And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.] (Quick Amplified Bible)
God must give birth to His judgment and subsequent wrath upon the earth. The birth of God's wrath will however reveal the true children of God as we see in the above scripture Romans 8:22. Many people are deceived into a thinking or doctrine being taught today, as well as yesterday, that a loving, gracious, forgiving, compassionate, caring, and merciful God will not pour out the wrath documented in the Book of Revelation. He will surely do so just as He documented through the Apostle John. God is so loving and long suffering that He is giving mankind so much opportunity for all to renounce their life of sin (repent, turn) and truly trust the Lord Jesus Christ, before His patience runs out.
Psalm 119:120 My flesh trembles for fear of You, and I am afraid of Your judgments. (NKJV)
Every person outside the Lord Jesus Christ should fear the pending wrath of God as the Psalmist states for us in the previous verse of scripture. But because the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, he is blind and unaware of his pending danger and certain judgment without Christ. He thinks that religion is some sort of exercise in continuous rule keeping.
Remember the people during the days of Noah, they laughed at Noah mocked him and ridiculed his endeavor to obey God (What God? they thought to themselves they could not see Him) and construct a boat to save himself and his family from the flood waters. When God promises judgment upon the wicked, He is not playing the part of the neighborhood bully, He is merely acting according to His nature. He cannot look upon iniquity at all, ever. God does not delight in judgment, just the opposite, He delights in mercy. However, He cannot dispense His mercy to anyone who rejects or resist it. The Lord is rich in mercy, He tells us this many times in His word and demonstrates it quite often to the children of Israel as documented for us in the Old Testament. However, even God has a time limit to His period of grace being extended to all right now. He clearly tells us that some people will stubbornly and neglectfully refuse and resist His offer of grace through the cross and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:5-6 For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual vice or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]--for he [in effect] is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience. (Quick Amplified Bible)
Romans 1:18 For God's [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative. (Quick Amplified Bible)
Man is left without any excuse for his sin. Sin, as we stated earlier, is the reason for the sure birth of God's wrath and therefore Christ blood shed at Calvary can and will cleanse from any sin. It has to or God would be Himself a liar. We know that God cannot ever lie. So mankind now has no excuse for its sin.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. (NKJV)
What shall be the response of Christ servants during these days of birth pangs? Simply to continue to get out the gospel, the Word of God no matter what opposition is faced and to be not partakers with the unfruitful works of darkness.
Ephesians 5:7 So do not associate or be sharers with them. (Quick Amplified Bible)
The devil does not want people to hear the real gospel, the only gospel that can save from God's pending wrath coming upon this earth. The devil never tries to stop church organizations, building projects, special programs, and all the other things that are not bad, but are not important when it comes to the souls of men and women. We must proclaim Christ where ever we are for He is the only one who can save mightily and completely transform the heart and minds of men and women. Christ authors every persons faith and He finishes and completes it to the uttermost. God's wrath poured out in full strength into the cup of His indignation upon this earth against the wicked and the ungodliness of men is sure and unchangeable. However, Christ can change you as He has changed me and you can be delivered (in Him) from the sure wrath to come. Come to Christ and not to church...
