there never seems to be enough time in my busy world
I’m busy driving the kids to school
to their music lessons
driving to the service station to fuel up
the Prado/ the Rav4/ the Landcruiser/
the large vehicle
to carry all our shopping
more stuff to put in our overcrowded house
we need to build an extension for all our things
of course the kids need their own rooms, their own computer
the schools expect it, you know
we have separate TV’s so no-one argues
about the choice of show
but there’s not enough time to do things
for church for community
- what community?
we’re busy people
it’s a tough world these days
there never seems to be enough money
it’s a struggle to keep our heads afloat
the mortgage the loans the credit cards
and keeping up with the Jones’
the house always needs maintenance
but it’s an investment, you see
I’m investing in our future
and I see on TV they are asking for donations
those people in Africa, child exploitation in Asia
you’d think they’d have enough money by now
they don’t realise the pressures we’re under
they don’t have a budget to worry about
or SUV’s or mobile phones or internet
there never seems to be enough happiness to go around
everyone’s complaining about something or other
the drive to work is stressful
road rage is everywhere
I see on A Current Affair that people are unemployed
and people are hassled
interest rates are going up, housing is hard to find
poverty is increasing
it’s terrible to hear
of course, there’s nothing I can do about it
I have a busy life, you know
and we are struggling as it is
we talked about it at prayer meeting
but we’re all in the same boat
how I wish we could find more time, more money
so we could help in some way
but there never seems to be enough…
I guess I could pray for these people
I hope that’s enough

A very convicting piece. Sadly, it is much more true than many Christians would like to admit. Our attitudes DEFINITELY need an adjustment. Thanks for sharing.
