Do I believe that the Bible should be considered a valid book for real educational purposes? Yes, even though Americans have since the early nineteenth century fought over which version should be taught. The Catholics and the Protestants each wanted their own version read in the morning devotions.
But look at it this way, the Bible happens to be one of the oldest known pieces of literature known to man, also the oldest known world history book. The characters of the Bible are well known figures of history, or they should be if we would allow our teachers to teach about them to our children.
The Bible is not a book of fairy tales and fables as some people believe because each and every day someone is proving that what is written in it happen just as it said. This book is full of mysteries, love stories, poems and even science. It can teach our children about the history of the Roman Empire, about ancient Greek civilization, even the birth of a Nation. I'm not saying that the Bible should be the only book used but it should not be ignored as a source when studying history or literature.
America has been so conditioned about separation of church and state that we have let one of our greatest resources slip through our fingers. It is constitutional as long as we teach it and don't preach it. How can we keep from our children that our whole nation was born because of our forefathers wanting religious freedom. To keep the Bible out of the classroom we have to keep the remarks of John Winthop, Abraham Lincoln and even Martin Luther King out because they quoted scriptures from the Bible.
Another reason I feel that we should allow this is that from every stand point the Bible is the most important book in history, and the reason I say this is because no other book has ever beat it in sales, year after year it has beat out all competition. It is the most translated book, It is in every country of the world. What other book can claim this? More people have died for this book. Wars were fought because of this book. And no other book has given more people hope and help than this one book.
So yes, I believe that the Bible should be considered a valid book for real educational purposes. Let's not keep from our children their birthright any longer because of a few that do not have the wisdom to understand that the Bible should be accessible to everyone, especially our children.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW

yes... it's sad that this generation doesn't even know that basic stories of the Bible. For centuries, it was used as a primer...to actually teach reading. We've fallen a long way from that. It's so sad.
