My teacher came and asked me, when I was only 4,
what I may want to be in life, what I may have in store.
I scratched my head in wonder, and then I did surmise
“I want to be a fireman and save a million lives”.
My teacher came and asked me, when I was only 8
what I may want to be in life, what I think would be great.
Briefly I considered, positions near and far,
then I said “I’ll be an astronaut so I can search the stars”.
My teacher came and asked me, when I was only 10,
what I may want to be in life to touch the lives of men.
I pondered for a moment, and then I said with glee
“I think I’ll be the president and conquer poverty”.
My teacher came and asked me, when time came to graduate
Which goal I plan to strive for, which one will be my fate.
I looked at her and answered, I’ve found a plan you see,
"I’ll give my life to Jesus first, then maybe do all three".

Nice. Flows really well. Good for you if this is true, I love to hear Faith openly declared in schools/ colleges. I teach, and although God is no longer 'allowed', I am noticing more and more Christians speaking out. I guess the politicians forgot to inform God that He was banned! Good poetry. God Bless.
