I knew of a woman
and on her forehead
the word "victim" displayed
in letters of red.
Nobody told her
but she actually caught on
by the way they treated her
she thought this would always go on.
One day she looked
into the silver glass to see
the words "new" and "creature"
written upon the bridge of her cheeks.
Nobody saw it
No, it was only for her eyes
and she'd look into the silver
as soon as she would rise.
And it was always there
as if engraved in gold
and she'd always try to rub it
just to see if it would hold.
There was nothing she could do
to rid it from her face
so she began to believe it
and something profound took place.
What was on earth
matched up with heaven's story
The red letters melted off
and Christ got all the glory.

This is a true story in symbolic form of a woman I've watched become tranformed within 3 weeks. Her mantra has been and I suspect will always be 2 Corinthians 5:17. I will never forget her because she lived it out.
