A TOUGH SUMMER

Sorry that I've been gone for a while but this has been a gruling summer. I spent most of April and May getting steroid shots for my spinal stenosis and getting back to walking like a human again. I was "sorta" thinking maybe I did have a monkey for an uncle for a while. But then I started getting better for vacation in June.
This was the first vacation I have had since I divorced my husband of 41 years and it was a welcome relief to get away from the "I live in the deep country" to see "the big city". My son, Ray, his wife, Rachel and the two girls, Katie and Abigail made space for "Nana" to sit in the back of the van and off we went to St. Louis, about 5 1/2 hours from where I live, via Rachel's folks home in Herrin, Il.
After that I got home and was barely able to walk again, having fallen up the steps leading to the Mississippi river after going up into the arch. I heard Rachel yelling at Ray who was walking ahead of me with the 2 girls, "Ray come and do something about your mother!"
I had bruises all over my legs and hips and could hardly hobble back to the car. After that I haven't been the same again. I returned home to a weakened back, bruised body and tired spirit but I really did enjoy being with the kids.
When I got home my HP windows vista crashed and I had to take it to a computer shop and get it reloaded. Did I fail to mention I hate "VISTA?" It stinks!
My landlord decided to get the house re-roofed, which it badly needed, and decided I could no longer have my "Wild Blue" satelite on the roof. It has laid on the ground for almost 6 weeks waiting for a representive to come and put it on a pole. Finally on Monday (July 14th) I got my satellite back...then a storm came through western Kentucky Wild blue went out and I called a representive who after 45 minutes got me back on line. Not knowing, that she set me up with a second connection that interfered with the 1st wild blue connection the internet was gone again.
Another call another 40 minutes with the guy finally telling me to call HP. What a mess!
I kept asking why we didn't just eliminated the second connection set up and obviously he was more uninformed about computers than I and said, "I don't know what to tell you." I said "goodbye' got on the system and eleminated one of the connections and all is fine now.
Thursday when I was taking a trash bag out of the garbage I reinjured my back and can barely walk again, with my neck also giving me fits. (For those of you who don't know I was injured in 1962 as the car I was riding in hit the front porch of a house. Now my neck, spine and back are in pitiful shape from a girl driving her car carelessly. How silly we are to not know at age 20 that something that serious could come back and bite you in the rear end later in life. I guess at some point in time i will have to have surgery as my spine is giving me serious problems in C1, c3, C5, L3, L4, L5 or that's what the doctor says...what i say is "ouch". Still, the greatest thing of all to know in all of this is the Lord is here and He is walking with me through thick and thin.
