Many old Christian are losing their fervency in Evangelism. The love of many is indeed waxing cold, in the aspect of Evangelism.
From the story of Jesus healing of the leper in Mk 1:40-45, one application on the Joy of salvation igniting the grace to evangelize can be drawn.
The great commission in the gospel is one and the ultimate of the several instructions given on Evangelism, however, at the material time of Jesus healing the leper: the leper was instructed by Jesus not share the good news with any one but to go show himself to the Priest according to the commandment of Moses.
But the leper was so excited that the he could not keep shut. Perhaps, the miracle of acceptance and healing by Jesus was so overwhelming, that it burns in his bones like fire. So the news spread fast like wild fire that it in some ways disrupted the programme of Jesus.
In our contemporary society, such a joy could be felt when a rich man relate to a poor man. There are some special dignitaries that have left a foot print in the life of some indigents. The latter live to spread the story of their encounter. As the leper live to share the story of his encounter with Jesus, the great physician.
It is a fact that the sharing of our experience could only last as long as the impact of the grace of the Holy God remains on the life of a wretched sinner, like me. Because of the worldly pressure all over the average Christian seems to be loosing their Joy of salvation and invariably the courage to evangelize.
Once more, the motivation of the leper in spreading the good news in spite of serious instruction not to reveal it to nobody, not far fetched from the Joy of Salvation in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, beloved brethren, for the restoration of the Joy of Salvation; return to Jesus. Understand that the Joy of Salvation is a blessing exclusively for born again Christian (those who have received Jesus into their lives as Lord & Saviour)
Can you talk to someone about the of God to you, today?
Pray for those who need this kind of Joy, to receive Jesus into their heart, and for those who need restoration of the Joy of Salvation to be humble to return to Jesus. And for those who are sharing the Joy of salvation already not be weary. In Jesus Name. Amen.
