A Candle In The Dark

I lit a candle in the dark,
and wondered at the light,
that such a small, insignificant thing
could turn the black to bright.

I saw the raindrops coming down,
each one splashing on the ground
and watched the flowers drink them up
refreshment without a sound.

I dropped a pebble in a pool
and watched the rings flow out
the smallest thing became writ so large,
a whisper became a shout!

It made me think of how our love
is made up of the smallest things,
and yet we never know just how much
the joy little gestures will bring.

Your love is like a flame in the dark,
giving me light to see,
how very much you are a treasure,
and how much you mean to me!

Your love is like the sweet raindrop
bits of love soaking into my heart,
and each one brings just what I need
for each day to have a brand new start.

Your love is like that pebble in a pond
the ripples touching my heart ever new,
and each one makes it all the more,
my heart sings how much I LOVE YOU!!
