As a former minister in Institutional Churches (Charismatic and Baptist), I never intentionally sought God's expressions through the rank and file Christian in their own homes. It just happened. One day, it occurred to me how so many life changing miracles were occurring in the living rooms of congregational members. On another occasion, while I was speaking, I scanned the auditorium and realized that face after face belonged to powerful Saints who could be changing the world "out there" were it not for the fact that they were sitting here listening to me! As one who was suffering from an incurable spinal disease, I was actually healed after receiving healing ministry from House Church attenders.
As a Workplace Chaplain, people often ask what church I am affiliated with and are pleasantly surprised to learn that the Chaplain doesn't go to church either! Though a few have assumed that I am, therefore AGAINST the local church, they quickly learn that nothing is father from the truth.
Over the past 4 years, my wife and I have found ourselves helping groups to get started in homes and, of course, I firmly believe that through TCAW, Simple Churches are being established as soon as one working Christian catches the vision.
