Welcome to the Relay for Life,
Our chance to have a voice.
One that says we will not quit.
One way we have a choice.
We all need someone close to us,
That will help us to stay strong.
Some here today we know are tired,
From fighting for so long,
We could choose to just give in,
Try to push it out of sight.
But we choose to join together,
And not give up without a fight!
And those here today,
Who have loved ones and friends,
Know although some have lost the battle,
That’s not at all where their memory ends.
Each one of us has a story,
And this event gives us common ground.
Through the stories, the tears and memories,
Many friendships will be found.
We share the fear of this demon called cancer,
The ups and downs along the way.
And this Relay For Life my friend,
Will take us a step closer so I pray.
A step closer to a cure for cancer,
Hopefully sooner than later.
I’m sure you agree there’s not much more,
That we could hear that would be greater.
My heart goes out to each of you,
Along with so many prayers.
It's so heart-warming to see so many,
Who have come out to show they care.
So as we join together in this Relay for Life,
Let’s relay a message that all can understand.
One that says “You are not alone.
We’re in this hand-in-hand!”

I didn't expect to wake up and read something like this, how encouraging. My brother has cancer and to the family, sometimes you can feel so alone. Thanks for writing this.. In the name of Jesus, i pray for all to be healed!
