“The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me” (Psalm 7:8)
Recently the satellite repairman came to our house to fix the local channels. He gave me the options for repair but said since he did not get any of the $80 relocation cost (the satellite had to be moved) that I could write a check to him for $60 and save $20. I asked him wouldn’t he get into trouble. He said that he wouldn’t.
I left him as he relocated the satellite and got it working again. He was just beaming when he was finished until I told him that I was going to pay the company and not him. He adamantly proclaimed that I was going to pay him. When he realized that I wasn’t, he resigned himself to the fact that he had lost the $60 he thought he was going to get.
The integrity of both of our hearts were in question. I could have saved $20 by giving him the money he proposed. I ended up paying the $80 and gave him $20 as a tip (I paid $40 more for righteousness). Most people would have paid the $60 and not thought anything about it. I am sure that he runs a nice little business on the side STEALING from his employer.
satan sets up entrapments on a daily basis. If I had fallen for this deception, $60 would have been the cost to lose the anointing on this ministry.
I was further amazed at his change of countenance. My actions left an impression on him probably because they weren’t the norm and seemed as foolishness to him. My decision to honor God should be a warning to him from God to stop sinning. I pray that he will repent and give an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.
PRAYER
Father, let our actions as Christians line up with the Word of God. Even in the small decisions, may we honor You by being and doing right. Amen.
