Chorus:
He’s coming back for us, just you wait and see.
Someday soon we’ll see Him on the clouds, returning for you and me.
He said He would! He said He would!
And praise the Lord, I still believe.
Verse: 1
The Lord told us in the Word that He had to go away.
But He also said He would return again for us someday.
And in the Word I still believe and believe I always will.
Because if the Lord said it, we should believe it; we can stand on His promises still.
Verse: 2
Just look around you brothers and sisters, tell me what you see.
People are all over the world, hurting inside and dying from hunger and disease.
Millions feeling hopeless and they have so much fear they hardly can sleep!
It’s time to lift our eyes toward Heaven and share that promise we know He’ll keep.
Bridge:
Let not your hearts be troubled and neither let it be afraid.
One day all our suffering will end, yes, in the twinkling of an eye.
We will see Him coming, in all of His glory.
Just like the old hymn says: “In the sweet by and by.”
Verse 3
So, you tell me, what’s really wrong with the “old days” gone by beliefs?
What Jesus said gave us all reason to hope and more than that He gave us peace.
We knew a joy deep down inside, that made us clap our hands and sing.
In every little town across the USA on Sunday, you could hear the church bells ring.
Repeat Chorus:
He’s coming back for us, just you wait and see.
Someday soon we’ll see Him on the clouds, returning for you and me.
He said He would! He said He would!
And praise the Lord, I still believe.
Yes…
He’s coming back for us. He said He would! He said He would!
And praise the Lord, I still believe.
