My Lord and my Savior, maker of all things. My love, my life, my all.
Which art in heaven.
In heaven, and in my heart. And sometimes when I get really anxious, I even pretend you’re sleeping on my couch. What comfort you bring.
Hallowed be thy name.
Oh, Father. How I want to honor you with my life, my actions, and my words.
Thy kingdom come.
Come, Lord Jesus. Reign in my heart, reign in my home.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Heaven’s perfect, but I am not. So many times I want to do it my way. So many times I want You to do it my way. Help me to do it – Your way.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Knowing You will supply all I need from Your glorious riches, which have been given to me in Christ Jesus. I’m not blessed because I have; I have because I’m blessed.
And forgive us our debts.
On my knees I fall, and I enter the throne of grace. And it is there that I find forgiveness, and with forgiveness, love.
As we forgive our debtors.
Search my heart, O God. Is there anyone against whom I hold a grudge? Help me to show them the same forgiveness and love that I’ve been shown.
Lead us not into temptation.
My spirit is willing, but my flesh so weak.
But deliver us from evil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking to destroy. But greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. I resist (Oh, help me to resist), and he flees.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
I’ve been told that this part isn’t found in some of the old manuscripts. That maybe someone added it later, Lord. However it got into my Bible, I echo the spirit inspired author that quoted the Master…“For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, and ever, and ever…"
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
