Wake up

Wake up!

I have been sleeping
slowly creeping, seeping
into my mind

Thoughts of worry
pay what bill, to who, at
what time

Chase a career, monetary
promotions, more
earthly dreams

My purpose, my plan
in weak, feeble,
fleshly hands

My thoughts... on me
I can rely, supply
all that I need

Skipping, hopping,
never stopping
to use your talents within

Given by God to touch
the nations, for preparation
of salvation

Halted, weakened.
stressed out, sickened
self-afflicted

Finally I am still enough,
broken enough,
humbled to wake up!

This is beautifully written and a real challenge; I wondered if it should read "self-afflicted" with a hyphen? probably the book-keeper in me being picky. Well done, and thanks for your recent critiques.

Broken enough, its a scarey thought but sometimes it just has to be that way to see. I have been there many times. wonderful article!
