Okay...be honest. Who's opened this article, simply because the title instructed you not to read it? Last week, before Youth Group I put up a sign. It simply said “Do Not Touch This Sign!” Young people and leaders alike automatically reached out and touched that benign piece of paper. Why? It told them not too in large black letters!!! It’s human nature, we just can’t resist doing wrong. That’s how human beings got kicked out of the paradise, which was the Garden of Eden - not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge was the only command God had given them and yet they couldn’t resist temptation. For thousands of years, the Jews aimed to follow 613 different rules, given them by God. They failed. Again and again, they failed and no matter how good you are you will fail at some point. You will find your eyes flicking towards something you know you shouldn’t be looking at and your hands involuntarily reaching out to touch the forbidden fruit. That is why we need Jesus, who came and threw the rule book out the window. He said all you need to do is believe in God and ask forgiveness for all that you’ve done wrong.
Our minds tell us, “No, that’s too easy! God should be asking me to walk through fire or hike to the North Pole wearing only a T-shirt! God should be putting me through Hell to allow me into Heaven and be forgiven.” You’re right!!! But as we know Jesus went through that Hell for us by dying on the cross and if you ask for God’s help then you have the power to resist temptation!

Guilty as charged. HA HA, My mother used to tell me as a child "curiousty killed the cat". I just had to see what I was told not to see. Guess I still have a bit of rebellion in me to deal with. I loved your article and it fits all of us. Thank you for sharing this.
