With a heavy heart
And tears in my eyes,
I recall the story of a girl
A girl I knew sometime ago.
She was a victim of circumstance,
A slave to lust.
Misery and agony were her companions.
She lived a live of no meaning.
She was raped to a high degree.
Every night was a nightmare.
Tortured by a monster
Who unfortunately was her own father.
She turned into a maniac.
After series of abortion,
Like a useless animal, she felt.
A nobody who wanted to become somebody.
And when things were a bit normal.
She freed herself from the monster – her father.
She swore never to be vulnerable again.
She became hostile,
Turned cold to advances
And couldn’t return people’s love.
The nightmares kept coming.
The monster kept staring at her.
She flinched at every touch
And got frightened of people.
Yet! She longed to live normal.
She strived to get the best of life.
The harder she fought,
The stronger things were.
“Is there an end to all these?”
She asked herself.
A small still voice said to her,
“My daughter, if you want to be free,
Lean on me!”
The scripture says, “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”
Matthew 12:28
