Tick! Tick!! Tick!!!
The hand of the clock speeds by.
Then the rush hour descends.
Coffee is sipped with impatience.
Children struggle with their school bags.
Cars pull out of the driveway.
And the unending race begins.
Smile vanishes from faces.
Serious and stern-looking faces.
The language seems to be,
“I’m late” or “I don’t want to be late.”
Few hours alter after lunch,
They look calm and composed.
A little bit fatigued, though.
The evening bell rings,
And another session of rush hour begins.
When night falls,
The body is weak and good meal seems rare,
For it is time to go to bed.
Time for the body system to relax.
A very short prayer is said.
With difficulty, a short verse of the Bible is read.
The eyes close in sleep,
While the good Lord Keeps watch.
He doesn’t sleep nor slumber.
Even though you don’t have time for Him,
You are always on His mind.
He cares passionately.
He loves fiercely.
He adores you more than anything.
He keeps you safe under His arms,
Despite the difficulties you face.
He wants you to spend more time with Him.
He needs your attention.
Why are you disappointing Him?
The Lord says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and I will eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20.
