Reflections

I, looking into the reflective glass
Spy more than just a fleshy mass
I behold something greater there
Not a trick of light or deceptive glare

I see more than what is there
In those eyes my soul is laid bare
There in the shimmering pair of orbs
Is reflected the image of my Risen Lord

Yes, there for all, like an open book
Come and see…into my soul have a look
I have no shame or condemnation
For through Christ I am a new creation

Though this image still has many flaws
A work in progress as I follow this cause
Perfection is the journey that I am on
My Lord will continue it until I am gone

Brothers and Sisters,

Sometimes we may have to look a little harder, but if you look He is there. The moment you invited Jesus to be Lord of your life He came. The Scriptures say we are a cloudy image, but we will someday be a mirror image of Our Lord because that is who our hearts reflect.

Through refining fires and continued growth we can be more and more like Jesus. That is progress. It is not the number of verses you have memorized, or how many times you have read the Bible. Neither is it the number of good deeds you have done. It is what is changing on the inside that changes the image in the mirror. Take a look and be encouraged for He who started a good work in you will work to perfection.

God bless,
Christian

Thank you for reminding us that whether family, friend or enemy, there's hope through the refining fire which is Jesus. Thank you. Anita

"Yes, there for all, like an open book Come and see…into my soul have a look I have no shame or condemnation For through Christ I am a new creation" This allows for the acceptance in the following stanza...Great piece. God bless!

Even though I have never met you, I can see Christ's reflection in your writing. This was a great poem, and the light of Christ shines through. God bless you on your journey of life....Helen

I love this, Christian! My prayer for every day, is first that when I look into the mirror I see Christ's Image looking back and second that when others look into my "shimmering pair of orbs", it is Christ and not me that they see. I saw the whole process pass before my heart before I wrote, Mirror Image . Blessings on your journey, Jody

Dear Christian, I have seen Jesus so many times in you and I have never met you. But He is there, no doubt about it! Keep writing for His glory. This is a beautiful poem and message you have shared. Love in Christ, Julia
