“So if you are suffering according to God’s will, keep on doing what is right and trust yourself to the God who made you, for he will never fail you” (I Peter 4:19) The Living Bible.
If you study the life of Jesus, all you will see is commitment to the will of God. Jesus moved steadily forward even when crucifixion seemed like He was backing up. The disciples did not understand the journey that Jesus was assigned to. Peter was rebuked for saying that Jesus should not die on a cross. Jesus accused satan who at that time rose up in Peter. “Jesus turned on Peter and said, ‘Get away form me, you satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are thinking merely from a human point of view, and not from God’s” (Matthew 16:23).
Being told straightaway that you are of satan’s kingdom is a hard word to hear. Yet, Jesus did not mince His words when it came to interference from His commitment to God’s plan.
There are many distractions to keep us off course but we must set our hearts to the task before us and never look back. I know that is a difficult assignment but doing anything less will only cause heartache. We must be resolved to keep moving forward.
PRAYER
I am committed to your plan for me, O Lord and I refuse to allow anything to detour me from your destination for my life. Help me to stay focused and true to the only one who knows me completely and can order my steps. Amen.
