Jan awoke early and slipped into the dinning room. It was her favorite room because she could see the sun rise from the huge bay windows.
Sitting at the large table with a note pad in front of her, she began to list some things she was thankful for. Jan knew that prayer was her life line. She often wrote letters to God. It had been a wonderful source of encouragement as she reread them and saw how much prayer had changed her life.
She smiled as she remembered asking for God to change Don's mind about them moving to Missouri.
Jan had loved their home in Florida and did not like cold weather. Now she could not imagine living any where else. The seasons were so different and there was something about each one she loved.
God had answered many things, and also there were things she has asked for, he did not give her. Wow what a disaster some of those would have been.
Jan, not knowing the future, asked for her will in many things by sight. If God had granted them, she would have plundered her family into disaster...
Just as the sun began to peep over the horizon, she glanced again at the bright orange and red sky. Standing, moving closer to the window. It was her way to greet her Heavenly Father. A rendezvous she kept each morning.
"Father, I want to thank you for your faithfulness for each new day in my life. Just as the sun comes up every morning, you are faithful to watch over us."
She was so filled with the magnitude of His glory. She knew that this beautiful sun rise was the closest thing on earth, to understanding what splendor his likeness in heaven would be like when she looked upon his face.
"You are so much more than my earthly eyes can see." she whispered. As the Holy Spirit filler her with joy, she knew she was standing in His presence today.
"I only want to praise you and thank you for your grace. You are all sufficient and your mercy is new every day." She prayed
Jan also knew there were no surprises for God; He knows the beginning and the end.
"I did not know about the cancer." A tear slipped down her cheek." Little did I know that last February, when the death of my sister and her husband came in the same month, that soon I would join them? But you did!"
Jan had accepted the circumstances in her life to be according to God prefect plan,
"Father, you were there to meet me with a healing hand and a piece that passes all understanding.'
With faith, that had increased because of His faithfulness to her, and a trust brought on by adversity, she confided, "Today may bring more unknowns to me Lord, but I am in your care. You know the way I will take."
" Keep me close and direct me in a way that will bring honor and glory to you. Forgive me when my flesh hinders me from being the testimony you are perfecting in my life for others to see."
Sitting back down she took her Bible and reading His words, she allowed Him to continue their conversation.
