Labels, you see them everyday in your life. What do labels mean to you? In high school, there are cliques everywhere. I’m currently a high school student and a senior-and throughout my years of high school I’ve seen labeling taking place. What’s the point really of labels? There’s always going to be jocks, preps, Goths, and loners to name a few. Can’t we just be our own individuality and have others accept us as who we are? I don’t like putting labels on people even though I just listed to give examples of what high school life can be. I’ve read so many books based on high school and they all list cliques of every kind, sometimes even on the first page. Labels can also lead to reputation, rumors, and fights even.
Though I feel like an average girl-waking up at 7:00 each day to get ready to leave at 8:05. Then I attend classes and come home. But I try to ‘label’ myself and ask where I fit in. However, I fit in God’s eyes. God has modeled me and everyone else to be like Him. So I’m not trying to be complaining or whiney, I’m taking a step back and look forward of what God can bring me in my future. He desires us to be just like Him, and be our selves. The whole point of writing this short essay is to get your thoughts and views of labeling. I’ve wanted to write a short essay of labels and what God wants from each and every one of us-a relationship of Him and not have to worry about labels.
