In spite of the doctrinal differences, there is a common bond that we do have with many of today's Mormons, and that is a sense of decency. This is due to the fact that many of today's Mormons also despise and rebuke the actions and behavior of the leaders of the polygamist camp formerly led by Warren Jeffs.
What occurred at this camp is nothing less than abominable. My personal opinion of course, is that because of the despicable sexual and physical exasperation that these young women endured, these men are worthy of the death penalty. Moreover, many of my mormon friends echo my feeling in regards to this.
These men are evil and perveted, and deserving of being purged from the land. The mainstream Mormon community recognized this, thus disassociating themselves from them. Therefore, I applaud the Mormons for this.
