"Constant vigilence is required to avoid becoming like the world."
Romans 12:2 " Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this word, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect."
I train daily
Strengthening my muscles
with repentance and prayer
Running, mile upon mile,
through God's word
Raising holy hands
to seek after the fighter's mentality
To train for the fierce battle
before me
My coach and encourager
guides me
Daily blessing me
with the hope of my salvation
He doesn't fill my head
with false praise
but challenges me
to work hard and
build my mind and body
into an equipped spiritual being
ready to withstand
the blows from my opponent
who changes in form daily
One day, he is a quick left hook
The next, he surprises me
with a jab from the right
His tactics are always surprising
yet I depend not on my own wisdom
My coach, the mastermind, above all
continues to train my willing heart
