Do you know that right at this moment, someone out there, somewhere, maybe praying for you? Don’t be surprised when you encounter the most distressing situation and all of a sudden, you receive an encouraging word, an inspiring email or a caring call from a friend. Those are answered prayers.
The other night I was so depressed and upset about something that I thought there was no way I can face another day. I didn’t even feel like praying. My mind was filled with all kinds of negative thoughts and my heart was polluted with bitterness and hatred. The next morning, I woke up from a couple of hours sleep and I felt like a new person. In my heart I felt only forgiveness, and overflowing love. Who knows? Someone maybe praying for me ? That night of sorrow was replaced by a morning of joy . A reminder of God’s love for me.
Prayer is a very powerful tool, that does not discriminate no matter who you are and how big your problems maybe. Prayer can mend a broken heart, provide healing to our soul and body, restore worn-out relationships even move heaven and earth. It can transform lives. It is the closest we can get to the heart of God.
If love is an action word, then prayer is an act of love. What greater love we can give to someone than to assure them that you are praying for them and really mean it? Better yet, pray with them.
I personally see and experienced many answered prayers. As a mother, I rely on the power of prayer and trust that God will shield my children from harm and guide them whatever they do and wherever they are. I remember a story of a mother who was praying for her daughter who was a new driver. At that exact moment, her daughter's car almost hit a truck at the freeway on her way home. Thank God for that mother’s prayer, her daughter was saved from a terrible accident. As nurse, I’ve witnessed many healing and instant recovery because of the prayers offered in faith. You may have your own testimonies of answered prayers that you may want to share.
The Bible says that the prayer of a righteous or a believing person is very powerful. So what’s stopping many of us from praying?
I would like to quote this prayer from Apostle Paul as I pray for you today:
“This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ; that you will do many good things with the help of Christ to bring glory and praise to God.” (Philippians 1: 9-11 )

Gloria, Thank you for posting this. It made me cry, especially your prayer at the end. May many be blessed by this reminder to pray and by the reminder that they are the object of someone else's prayer. You are a blessing.
Lord, bless and refresh Sister Gloria with your supernatural peace and favor this day. Thank you for allowing her to minister to the Body of Christ. In Your name, Amen.
You are so right! Many times, my spirit has been lifted and the burdens made easier by my praying friends. God hears and listens to our prayers and carefully and lovingly answers them, like any loving Father would when His loved ones petition Him. Great reminder of the blessing of a good prayer!
Dearest Gloria... Today, the word that has been given over and over is PRAYER. Bless you for this beautiful message. You are an amazing messenger for the Lord in the way you LIVE YOUR LIFE and let HIS LIGHT SHINE WITHIN YOU. Your writing is truly a ministry and we thank God for you! Love, SiS Peggy
First of all, Gloria, let me just say that I agree with the other comments here. There is SUCH power in prayer!!... especially in prayers of the heart... those spoken in love. In case I haven't told you lately, it is a great HONOR to be one of your partners in the Lord's great commission for us. And that's what prayer is... a commission that we do very well to take part of. May we all live daily following the example of prayer "without ceasing." Let His house be a house of PRAYER! Amen, Sister Gloria. GREAT work!
