“Finding this treasure of mercy makes the poorest beggar a prince. Missing this gift makes the wealthiest man a pauper.” - Max Lucado
He rescued me,
a poor beggar,
living on the filthy
streets of life
My cup was empty
My heart hardened
lying in a heap
of garbage
He reached down
and offered His
healing touch
to a disobedient ragamuffin
like me
I chose to take His hand
wanting to be healed
Faithfully, He pulled me
out of darkness
surrounding me with His light
Shedding the rags
of despair
Working to restore His
holy temple
He crowned me His princess
and ignited the fire
within my soul
I am but a poor beggar
yet His princess
Oh blessed treasure
of mercy
I adore
