Rolling green dreams
With frigid splashes
Of unaccompanied
Peace
The sandman
An old ally

My Oasis dry
With wicked windstorms
Of slicing
Silence
Help me God
The muted answer
Plows up rooted tears
Stillness stands
Startled
By sobs of
Hollowed sorrow
Begging hope
It’s a start
I sneeze
Allergies
Dust
My Bible
Nearby
Beneath sleeping pills
And tranquilizers
Trembles with the expectation
Of touch
Psalms
A hot cup of tea
Steams
Steeps and warms
My soul
I will lie down
Now
And sleep
My peace
Now partnered
For my Lord
Alone
Blankets me
With safety
Stifling
The silence
Of grief

Lots and lots of alliteration and assonance in this gorgeous poem! The reference to psalms brings us the verse of "I will sleep in peace," I have read this verse so many times when I couldn't sleep. "In night's hip pocket" ... clever, clever, clever! My only suggestion: I'm not sure I like "an old ally." I wanted to read "old ally" or "the old ally".
I know you wanted the short a sound there, but it doesn't quite work for me. Again, another brilliant poem.
