Whatever

Megan stared at the stain, Horrified.

“So, you’re the stain?”

The slithery shaped shadow hissed.

“My name’s, Horrified.”

The teen never liked basements, but she was on a mission.

“That’s cool, or, not. But, I’m looking for my Angel.”

“You’re not…afraid?”

“No, I’m Megan. Afraid lives outside at night. Now, my Angel’s gonna have babies.”

“That’s weird.”

“My Angel is a cat.”

“Oh, your cat, she’s in the garage.”

“Thank you, Stain.”

“It’s Horrified.”

“Whatever.”

Wrong Question

Megan looked at the stain, horrified.
The man had been dead for hours. Megan found his body in a dumpster. His blood was dried and brown when she began praying. Now, his t-shirt was soaked in bright red flowing blood.
She saw a golden chain-and-cross on his chest move. It thumped once, then twice. Soon, the man’s eyes opened; he spoke.

“You an angel?”

“Nope, garbage collector.” Megan smiled.

“Is that in Heaven or Hell?”

Megan closed the dumpster lid.

Good job. I like the "off beatness" of both stories.
Holly Westefeld 24 Mar 2008
The first was just plain fun. The second brought me up short, and made me think. I think she closed the lid because he was wearing a cross, but didn't know where he should be?

Clever, original, a little off the wall, I LIKE IT! Both great stories!

Well, these a very, very creative. I wanted to more because I was left with questions. I'mm very curious. Good job!

Wow, that first one was great.Question, In the second one if she was praying, why did she then close the lid?

Wow, Henry! You write prose, too, and very, very well! Funny, thought-provoking, and extremely creative. Why not try a second set--one free verse, one rhymed poem? I dare you.
Lyn Churchyard 21 Mar 2008
Henry, the more I read your first story, the more I enjoyed it. Very clever (who's on first?). Ooops, definitely the wrong question to ask! So good.
Tim Pickl 21 Mar 2008
I like the first one -- very clever!

I really like the take on Horrified in the first story. Not your typical reaction to pray when you find a dead body, but I really liked it.
