Mini CHALLENGE--week of 3-20 2008
2nd Entry

Megan stared at the stain, horrified.
The Bride isn’t stained … that is just wrong.

She awoke from the dream to the thought of, “He forgives our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.”

Megan looked at the Bible open on her lap.

The verses seemed alive. “Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”

What was that sound?

Megan was gone. The Bible lay on the bed, left open at, “Surely I come quickly.”

---------

Megan stared at the stain, horrified

Her lip quivered. Her best friend’s coat was now smothered in chocolate syrup.

“It’s alright, Honey, we can fix it.”

Anxiously she watched Mommy work at getting the chocolate stains out. She sobbed as Mommy put it sodden in the dryer.

The buzzer went. With a satisfied smile, Megan hugged her stuffed puppy to her chest again, as Mommy wondered how many more washings ‘puppy’ could take.

WOOHOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN!

These are great! Wonderful contrast and 2 excellent stories. The first one: wowee! The second one, Awwww!
Holly Westefeld 24 Mar 2008
Both great, and so different. What a loving mommy to take such tender care of a beloved stuffed animal.
K. J. Cash 22 Mar 2008
Wow! To be gone in an instant! Wouldn't that be grand. And the second one, things are important to children that are not so big to us. Things are important to us that are not so big to God--yet He tends to us just the same. Thanks for the story. I'm liking this mini challenge!

The first one is so exciting. I thought the second had a sort of surprise ending because I thought she had spilled chocolate on a friend's jacket. I didn't realize whose coat it was (the stuffed dog) until the end. Nice job. These are very different. Bravo.

Powerful stories -- the second one had me say, Awwww.... :)

Oooh, Victoria, that first one gave me goosebumps! Great word choices, superb ending.
Lyn Churchyard 21 Mar 2008
So different! The first is definitely goosebump material. With the second one you tricked me; I never thought of a toy pup's coat. Good work Miss V.

Especially liked the 2nd! Great job!
Joanney Uthe 21 Mar 2008
I really liked the first one. We had a dolly that I had to give three new shirts to because her chest ripped open from too many washings, so I related well to the second story. Great job!
