Minor Detour--1948

The Syrian Officer strode into the office of Menara Shipping in Rome. A heavy burden was upon him. His precious cargo of arms must get through if the Zionist threat was to be contained.
The shipping agent at the desk said, "You do understand I will have to charge extra for your, rather unorthodox cargo."
"Yes, yes", said the Syrian Officer impatiently.
"I'll see what I can do", the shipping agent promised.
A few hours later Asher walked in his door of Menarra Shipping. He said,"I heard you are in a hurry. I can provide you a ship and crew-the captain is perfectly reliable and shows the highest of discrestion."
Asher then showed his paperwork,"The ship is the SS Argiro, 250 tons. Here is all the information you need."
A few days later the arms were loaded aboard and the Argiro departed.
Later the Syrian officer strode in. "What is this you have done!", he shouted.
"What do you mean?", the shipping agent asked.
Then the Syrian officer slamed down on the table a paper. "This is the ship you have chartered?" he cried out.
"What is wrong?" replied the shipping agent.
"Read", he said.
The Shipping Agent read,"SS Argiro, 250 tons, chartered from Winedark Lines LLC, a subsidiary of Bluesea Lines LLC..." he read on.
Then the Syrian Officer pointed, "...Captain and crew provided by Moshav Ben-Zebulon...".
The Syrian Officer said, "You will regret this."
The Shipping agent said, "My dear sir, be reasonable. What are you going to do-go to the police? What will you tell them?"
The Syrian Officer walked out.
Meanwhile Asher was in the harbor of Tel-Aviv watching the Argiro put in.
A man next to Asher turned to him and said, "Thank you. You have done a great service."
Asher smiled, "Just a day's work for a small trading concern based in Palestine."

This article is a repeat because it was accidently submitted twice. That is the only reason I submitted four articles today. In reality there should be only three.
