“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7)
Most of us stuff away our fears thinking we will deal with them another day, but we don’t. They seem to mount up within us to clobber us later. The purpose of fear is to stop us from going forward and it does just that. Fear accomplishes its goal by freezing us into inactivity.
Both fear and faith need to be fed. We can feed fear with our emotions or we can feed faith by building up the reservoir of The Word in our spirits. Every person will choose daily which one they intend to feed. Either fear or faith will dominate a person’s life.
A successful person will stop fear in its tracks and move past failure to the next steps of faith. We must discipline and control how we think and rely upon the abundance of God’s Word in our lives.
PRAYER
Thank you Father that the Word of God, when acted upon, will drive out every fear as long as we exercise our minds to line up with God’s truth. Amen.
