Then Moses called all
the elders of Israel,
and said to them,
Select lambs for yourselves....
and kill the passover lamb.
Take a bunch of hyssop
and dip it in the blood
which is in the basin,
and touch the lintel
and the two doorposts
with the blood....
and none of you shall go out
of the door of his house
until the morning.

'the Godhead', Lord."
"Tell Me, child."
"I don't really understand
it. It's really a weird word,
Lord. I never heard of it."
[SILENCE.]
"I don't really like it;
it sounds too...eh,
TECHNICAL; Ya know?"
[NOD.]
"Yeah. So, I looked up
some articles online."
[PATIENT SILENCE.]
"There were some Christian
ones. Hey, and I even
found a JEWISH one!"
[SMILE.]
"Yeah, but it was way
too intellectual for me.
Both were, Lord.
What should I do?"
"About what, child."
"About JESUS?
I just can't INTELLECTUALIZE
Him! I can't DO it!"
"What does your heart say,
child?"
"Eh.....I'm kinda afraid
of my heart, Lord.
(Silence.)
It's all in splinters, anyway.
There's a raw piece here,
and a thin sliver, there."
"I know, child.
I have every one."
"YEAH? So, why
haven't You put 'em
back, TOGETHER?"
[SILENCE.]
"I'm sorry, Lord.
It's Passover.
I should be more reverent."
[SMILE.]
"No! I'm SERIOUS!
Listen, I can't explain
Jesus, except for one
thing."
"What thing is that,
My beloved?"
"Well....it's about the
doorposts, when
You told the Israelites
to get ready - for
Your Coming."
"Go on."
"Death was going to come -
and, I think it still is;
so I gotta take my hyssop
and dip it in His Blood -
the Lamb's Blood..."
"Yes, child?"
"And....spread It,
over my door."
[SILENCE.]

For the Lord
will pass through
to slay the Egyptians;
and when He sees
the blood on the lintel
and on the two doorposts,
the Lord will pass over
the door,
and will not allow
the destroyer to enter
your houses....
[Exodus 12:23]
