If you’re an avid Trekkie you probably recognize Lwaxana Troi as
the Ambassador of Betazed, and her daughter Deanna, as ships
counselor. Every time Lwaxana introduces herself to others she
always emphasizes the fact that she is the holder of the Sacred
Chalice of Rixx, which must have some special value or meaning,
at least on the fictional planet of Betazed.
However, in one episode, Deanna rebuffs her mother pointing out
that it is just a moldy old clay pot. But to delegates from other
planets, the Chalice of Rixx probably sounded impressive, but how
would someone from a different planet or culture understand the
value of Lwaxana’s moldy clay pot?
In Apostle Paul’s letter to Christ’s Ambassadors at Corinth, he pens
these words. "So then men ought to regard us as servants of Christ,
and as those entrusted with the secret things of God." 1 Cor. 4:1 (NIV)
As modern day Ambassadors on the front lines in the culture wars, do
people around us regard us as people entrusted with the secret of
Live long and prosper, and may the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ provide you with opportunities to be his Ambassador to your world.
