The definition of prayer in the dictionary is divine talking to God. I don’t know how I got into prayer, but it happened when I came to the internet. It took me two years to think about getting a computer. But once learnt, I was drawn to a free website on www.ourchurch.com. which was constructed on line. I felt nudged by God to make a website on prayer. This started with children’s prayers I knew, and then general prayers. I had been writing poetry for a number of years so some of these were added and a few little stories with illustrations. Eventually I needed more space than the pages allocated free, so I paid a sum for a yearly unlimited space and more graphic space. Now I have a prayer request page and a blog. This website is called Prayer Lines.
In the meantime I also made a website on msn groups which was also prayer and on this I placed prayers with candles. This website has developed from a personal website to a proper group with several members. After a while I found I was writing my own prayers for both websites and this extended to blogs.
When I was a teenager I had been a Sunday School teacher and wrote prayers in a little book, but sadly this book got lost. I feel I am meant to be involved in prayer. Prayer can be said, any where and at any time as God is big and waiting for our intercession and are important to intercede for others. Sometime in dark phases I am prone to I find it difficult to pray, so just wait till this passes and God helps me back to light. It is necessary to have a peaceful quite moment to allow God’s inspiration to come to you and pray for words. We are meant to pray as Jesus told us with the Lord’s Prayer, so prayer should be part of life itself.
I can’t say I am very knowledgeable, I just be myself and wait for words to come. I believe prayer makes a difference. It makes a difference to us and those we are praying for. So it can become a network and God works within the network, so prayer never ends. There are many great prayers in Psalms and Song of Songs, and reading some can give comfort and insight. Prayers can be thanksgiving, love, praise, hope, despair, well-being, joy, peace. It is a poem to God.
