We passed by an antique shop,
a carousel horse was standing there,
it looked so lost, so out of place,
did no one notice? Did no one care!
Bright paint and all, it looked so forlorn,
dressed up but with nowhere to go,
as if it knew there was a party somewhere,
but the way to get there it did not know
It reminded me of how I was
in days not so long ago,
when I was lost, but knew it not,
so much that I did not know
Jesus heard my silent wish,
to fill the hole in my heart,
I longed for something, I knew not what,
I needed a vital part
Before I knew the thought had gone,
He was right there by my side,
and peace and forgiveness flowed over me,
this was a refuge in which I could safely hide
Jesus transformed my heart, made it brand new,
He showed me which way to go,
and promised if I followed Him,
there was so much more that I could know!
When the time was right, He took my hand
and brought me to a beautiful new place,
and filled it with such love and joy,
that was the day we met face to face!
Now I thank Him every day
for the dreams He has made come true,
and most of all, my heart just sings out
oh, how very much I LOVE YOU!!
