Give me Your Heart

What is the desire of our Heavenly Father?

Does He want us to be rich? Does He want us to be popular or famous? The answer to these questions is it does not matter. He wants our hearts. You know many times we run around doing things that we think our Heavenly Father wants us to accomplish in this brief life here on earth. We are in this group, on that committee, writing this novel or commentary and we donít stop to think why the Lord Jesus saved us in the first place. He could get the angels to serve Him in absolute and complete obedience with every assigned task. We donít obey with perfect obedience in the work He wants done in His name.

He wants fellowship with us a continual love feast from our hearts. Sometimes when I think of the love the Lord Jesus has shed abroad in my heart through the Holy Spirit; I just lose it and begin to weep. How could He love such a rebel? How can we give the Lord Jesus our heart? Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me your heart and let your eyes observe and delight in my ways. This verse of Scripture answers the question. We observe and delight ourselves in the ways of the Lord. This English word ways comes from the Greek word derek, which means a course of life or mode of action. In essence let us observe the lifestyle of the Lord Jesus Christ and let that lifestyle become ours.

When we were Born Again, we received the mind of Christ. Many of us are in places or circumstances where we think that this may be hard to do. What is hard to accomplish for a true Blood bought child of the King of Kings when we have His very mind. There are many things in this temporary life on earth that Satan has set up to take away our affections from the Father. Hosea 4:11 Harlotry and wine and new wine take away the heart and the mind and the spiritual understanding.

Look lets not allow ourselves to be seduced by the temporary things of this world they are all going to past and fade away. The closer we are in our hearts to Christ now on earth I believe will determine how close we are to Him forever. The Apostle Paul told us that we can cast down imaginations and every (note highlight or underline the word every) high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bring every (thereís that word again, it must be important) thought into captivity or enslavement to the obedience of Christ. You should stop right now and shout Hallelujah! Are you kidding me? Are not the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word worth our entire hearts affection? If you really want to know a love feast, have your joy overflow to full, experience the internal power over sin, and love the un loveable and those you find hard to like, just stop all your doing and going and slow down and just give Christ your Heart 24/7 and 365.

Sincerely in Christ,
