Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Early in the morning,
in that blessed, quiet hour,
I find myself endowed
with supernatural power,
with the strength to withstand
whatever comes my way.
I find it in great abundance
when, in the quiet, I pray.
I go to the secret place
where there is no doubt or fear.
For it is in that quiet hour
that I most sense my Father near.
He has such loving thoughts
toward a little child like me,
who trusts in His grace
and tells Him so on bended knee.
And when I turn to His Word,
I find my journey there,
my path within its every page,
inspired by my Father’s care.
Wisdom flows like a river
to help me in time of need
from the Word I cherish so,
and again, He plants The Seed.
And when the wind begins to blow
and thunder is rolling through,
that Seed reminds me of The Branch
that I‘ve been grafted to.
I trust the Lord to keep me,
whether day or night,
through storm or trial or terror,
to be my guiding Light.
