I saw a man who painted pictures
using only nails
each one was a wonder to behold,
what patience that entails!
Thousands of nails close together,
creating shadow and light,
the tiniest details added in,
quite an amazing sight.
It reminded me so of our days
put together bit by bit,
not knowing how the picture will turn out,
but sure that God is in charge of it!
Each moment like one of those nails,
creating memories for the heart;
reminder of the joy I feel,
knowing we'll never be apart!
A shadow here, a highlight there,
the picture slowly becomes clear,
and what I see is your dear face,
filled with the love I hold so dear.
Every moment is so different,
yet all are the same, too,
for every one is stamped with love,
you give to me, and I return to you!
When the day is finally done,
I know all over again that it's true,
the greatest gift God gave to me,
is how very much I LOVE YOU!!
The pictures that we paint are ours,
in a gallery only our hearts can view,
and every day it grows in beauty,
Oh, how very much do I LOVE YOU!!!
