As I sat in the palm of his hands, rough and calloused from building such a grand vessel, I reflected on the journey which brought us to that moment. I remembered the day I felt that inner peace and sense of urgency drawing me towards my destiny. Of course I was unsure of what awaited me, yet never once did I question my path.
I remember the rain begining to fall as it had so many times before. This time was very different though. It rained day and night for what seemed to be an eternity. After a couple of days, the water rose beyond the confines of the rivers banks. Water began to flood the streets as people shouted and yelled at this mighty man of many years. In his eyes I could see the sorrow he felt for the others like him who were not allowed upon this amazing work of art.
I failed to understand the purpose of this grand piece of craftsmanship, until I felt a shifting beneath me. I flew to the window and noticed the water had surrounded us. Now we were adrift with an unknown destination as the rain continued pounding around us. After a few days I could no longer see anything which resembled the green fields I had loved to visit.
One day, just as quickly as it had started, the rain stopped. As I looked from the window, I saw a brilliant arch across the sky. It consisted of soft, refreshing colors of miraculous beauty. Then the moment came when he tossed me into the air. I Wasn't sure where or what was ahead of me, I just knew I had to fly.
As I grew tired and weary, I came across this beautiful tree. I notice the sprouts of new growth covering its branches and feel an eagerness to show the one who had built the vessel which had protected us all from the rains. Now that I am rested, I will pluck a twig from my resting place and return to show them all the beauty I have found in the rebirth of nature. My search is over.
