You know a tree by the fruit that it bears, so what fruit does your tree bear that tells others about you and the God your serve? Most Christians don’t examine their trees on a daily basis to know. They most times are watching someone else’s tree.
Your Fruit Will Tell. Many of us are confused about who God is. The body of Christ claims to know Him, but many, not a few, many only know of Him. God has said that many have a religious relationship with Him. What that means is this? We do many things in the name of Christ, for example, we attend regularly the events of the church, and we join auxiliaries and so forth. It is from these things we claim to know him. Works has never justified a relationship with anyone. We work on jobs for people everyday that we do not know. How many of us know the CEO of the company we work for? Very, Very, very few! Most of us don't even get an opportunity to meet them nevertheless know them. So how can we justify knowing God by performing tasks. We can't!
God requires intimacy and that can only come about from a relationship with God. Out of Intimacy we perform and do those things that God ask or require us to do. This is why so many of us lack integrity in the very tasks we perform in. During intimacy with God, we are building that relationship with Him and a desire to do things His way will emerge and it becomes important to please HIM not ourselves! We will want God to be glorified through us and in us. We will walk in love showing His mercy and compassion to all.
Religion still leaves us cold and lifeless. That is why so many in this latter day will have hearts that will wax cold. Ask yourself, do I have a true relationship with God or am I bordering on the religious side? If you are not having a relationship, then develop one. Believe me you will see the difference!
Be Blessed!
