Tonight I have been pondering the subject of unity. I know that the internet has brought into my life brothers and sisters that I am in unity with in heart and mind.
I cherish my sisters and friends on the net, though we are apart we are together in the Spirit.
In such a busy society with work, children and of course for me, work, ministry and writing which takes up so much time.
Color is never an issue for me, who cares, it is unity it is oneness.
I can find more like minded on the net then in my small community, and it is such a blessing, I thank God for the net and for my internet friends. to me there is a whole differnt intimacy then I experince with my brothers and sisters here in my community.
It isn't that I like being a hermit or a recluse, but God has given me a call, and if I got so involved in everyones lives, and going to every church activity, I would not have time to do what I am called to do, and that is to be a watchman in the house of my Lord, to touch lives and to reach souls for Christ.
To be quite honest with you, I do not find unity in the church. Especially what the Lord had in mind.
So this is why I write this message.
It is so important to be in unity, in all areas of the church.
it is so important to have Christ love flowing back and forth to one another.
There were not many different beliefs or doctrines, in the early church that came from the flesh.
It is the flesh that thinks it knows more then any one else.
But Jesus intention was one church with many members of all nations.
It is truly disturbing to hear about a black church, a white church, a Chinese church and on and on.
And "My particular church is the right church".
This really is a turn off. Because there is only one church, and we have to stop dividing it and become one.
We need to understand that what divides are opinions rather then scriptures.
The Lord never meant for scripture to divide.
Pride is behind division. Satan is behind pride and division.
He sits back and laughs at the division he has brought to the church of Jesus Christ.
One of the problems I can clearly see is the intellect. For knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.
So many want to intellectualize the gospel.
The gospel is not from the mind it is of the Spirit of God, and cannot even be understood without the Spirit, and this is where so many part company.
Even wisdom is not to be human wisdom but the wisdom that comes down from heaven. It is so prideful to delare our own wisdom.
Man cannot bring unity to the body of Christ, only the Holy Spirit of God can and will do that.
So it is more of the Holy Spirit that is urgently needed in our lives, we need to humble ourselves before God and recognize we are nothing without Him, we are but a grain of sand.
We need to cry out to God for more of the Holy Spirit, and to bring unity to the church.
Then and only then will we be seeing as God see's, then and only then will we look at people with His eyes, and we will not see color, we will not see the country they are from, but we will see Spirit to Spirit.
What a beautiful vison of loveliness to behold.
All walking in love toward one another, walking in peace, walking in the Spirit as the Lord had intended.
We need unity, and when people of color come to church we need to not see the color, but see Jesus in everyone.
And when someone poorly dressed comes to church, and sits in the back, welcome him, give him the best seat in the house and treat him like one of your most respected persons in the church.
Not only for love's sake but you never know if it is an angel unaware.
Heb 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
It breaks God's heart to see the poor so disrespectfully treated and those of another skin color or culture made to feel they are different.
We all have the same blood in our veins.
I know that many poor do not attend church because they do not have what we may consider proper attire.
Many Christians will come to church all decked out, as if that means anything to the Lord, and then those who come in dressed in what some might consider shabby.
The visitors feel very uncomfortable.
It is more important to dress modestly, and not in a way that attracts attention to one self.
We are not in church to have people look at us but rather to see Jesus.
We are there to worship the Lord, and we want Him to look on our hearts and see they are pure before him, so when others come in without nice clothes we can welcome them just as we would anyone else and they will not feel different.
Jesus never went to the temple in Armani suits. He never drove up to the church in a Mercedes.
He either walked or rode a donkey.
Today most people would be embarassed to make their entrance that way. It is all about image.
Man looks at the outward appearance of man, God looks on the heart.
It is very distressing when I go to church, and it is segregated. I want to go where everyone is together, one mind, one spirit and one heart.
that is what it is all about. We all have the same Spirit, so we should relate to one another in that way rather then differnces, that is the true church, one in the Spirit.
This should be our hearts desire to see the body come together as one.
I don't mean echumenicalism, which is coming together in all differnt beliefs.
No, by the Spirit there is one church. One Body, and One Spirit.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
To be technical, we are the body, the body is not a building.
So we must be the church, and that means if we are the church, His body, His church, and His Spirit is within us.
AS the Lord created the church, there would be no denominations,no schisms, no color, many countries, many people all believing the truth of the gospel according to the Holy Spirit.
Racism is a sickness that is not from the Lord, nor is prejudice and in order for us to be one, we must allow Him to remove all traces of that from our lives.
There are really few differences, each may have a particular food they like, but they all do the same thing every day, they eat and sleep, they marry and give birth, and they are equally loved by God.
Isn't it amazing how he doesn't see us as color though He made us as a flower garden, he gave us so many variaties to enjoy, so many colors and each is so lovely to behold.
He doesn't see everyone as differnt colors but He sees them as a color wheel that all blends together and can mix colors to get other colors. The only thing he hates is when we mix with unbelievers, and worship their idols.
It is not the color that is the problem, it is in marrying unbelievers, that will pull us away from worshipping the one true God.
Have you ever noticed the mountains, how you will see so many shades of green, each are different yet each blends so perfectly together, He created all kinds of shades and hues and each blends so perfectly.
If everyone would put aside all their favorite denominations and beliefs, and would go back to the begining, and just get their bible out and let the Holy Spirit teach them.
We would all receive the same truth, it would not be by mans intellect, or opinion but by the Spirit of God.
And the Lord would show us His perfect plan for unity.
It is the Spirit only that can bring us into unity with one another.
Can you imagine how wonderful that would be, to be of one heart and mind like the early church, how much love that flowed between them, and as they prayed as One, more were added to the church daily.
Oh Lord, make us One, Lord gives us your eyes to see, Lord show us how to love one another as you love each of us.
Lord show us love, show us your plan for humanity, teach us truth Lord. Lord we are seeing so much apostasy as your word prophecied, and Lord if your Spirit would bring us together they all would see to turn back to you and the truth.
Lord we are so divided, we don't see each other as you see us Lord, give us eyes to see Lord as you see. Lord we ask You to heal the church, heal our nation, and forgive us for our pride and for shutting out Your Holy Spirit.
Lord heal us, Lord heal our land, Lord give us a hunger for more of You and Your Holy Spirits Presence in our lives.
Lord we repent of our divisions, or our prejudices, and for our opinions, Lord make us one.
In Jesus, Yeshua Precious name, amen and amen
