I heard this little tap, tap, tap,
upon my windowpane,
and knew that if I looked outside,
I would see the falling rain
Pools and puddles on the deck,
the grass had patches of green,
the ground was a sponge, drinking it up,
getting ready, God's plan yet unseen.
I remember feeling like that,
when Jesus first rescued me,
I could not ever get enough,
His truth had set me free!
And then I had to learn to wait
to set His plan in front of mine,
for if I was willing to give mine up,
He'd replace it with one divine.
And once I had said yes to that,
whatever He wanted, I would do,
that's when He gave me all my dreams,
for that's when I met you!
The love I thought I'd never have,
the wonder of dreams come true,
God brought me every bit of that,
my heart's treasure, wrapped up in you!
Can I ever thank God enough
for His mercies ever new?
I'll try by living my life with joy,
so easy, because I LOVE YOU!!
